About Us:

The Greater Monessen Chamber of Commerce was founded in 1901. The main focus of the Chamber is to

serve the needs of the citizens of Monessen and the Business Community. The City of Monessen is located along the Monongahela River and is home to approximately 8900 residents.

The City of Monessen is conveniently located 30 miles south of Pittsburgh and minutes off of Interstate 70. Monessen is approximately 24 miles from Greensburg, 25 miles from Uniontown and 26 miles from Washington.

There are more than 70 stores for your shopping convenience. Many of these stores feature unique merchandise assortments. The City is also full of tantalizing Restaurants for your dining pleasure.

Monessen is also home to several outstanding manufacturing operations that are nestled along the river.

Monessen has an extensive Public Library and District Center. The library provides many services and access to books from all over the country In addition to the Public Library, Monessen’s Public Education System is second to none. The Monessen School District has achieved impressive results on standardized testing.

In relation to recreational activities, Monessen City Park is the nicest Municipal Park in the region offering a walking track, tennis courts, picnic areas and a children’s playground. Also, within a short driving distance you will find a boat launch that is popular among many area boaters.
